Disturbed has quickly become my favourite band. In May 2007, I happened to watch Music TV's Fuck the Eurovision Song Contest Weekend and they showed Disturbed's live concert at night. I was totally blown away and couldn't believe I hadn't noticed what a great band it was before. I never had had one favourite band until I discovered their music. It was like a revelation, "this is it, nothing can top this."
I love their melodic and aggressive music complimented by David Draiman's amazing thundering vocals. I love all of their albums, but Ten Thousand Fists and Indestructible are probably my favourites at the moment. I really like the melodicism and lyrics of the songs, and I think those two albums show off everyone's talents the best.
My favourite songs are Stricken, Liberate, Deify, Overburdened, Stupify, I'm Alive, Down with the Sickness, Sacred Lie, Violence Fetish, The Game, Hell, Numb, Run, Monster, Fear, Prayer, Criminal, Enough, Inside the Fire, Haunted, The Night, Façade, Perfect Insanity and Indestructible.
To sum it up, I love everything about this band — the dynamic music, the intelligent and thought-provoking lyrics, the beautiful vocals that alternate from the lyrical to the grizzled, the creative and captivating music videos, the energetic live performances, you name it. I was lucky enough to see them perform live in Helsinki on November 2nd, 2008. And no — there really aren't any proper words for their awesomeness.
