Top 10: Dr. Gregory House

House is, hands down, my favourite television series and — not quite so surprisingly — the intriguing, damaged and sardonic Gregory House is my all time favourite character.
I absolutely adore Dr. House: his sarcastic and witty comments, twisted sense of humour and non-conformist or anarchistic way to do things. He never seems to miss an opportunity to exercise his cunning and biting wit, and spends a great deal of time picking people apart.
Most of all, I like the fact that House is a very unusual protagonist. As House's friend Dr. Wilson has stated, House makes sure that his personality is as antisocial and repellent as possible in order to keep others at a distance. House also has nothing but contempt for optimism and sometimes goes to unusually brutal lengths to prove that people are in essence selfish, predictable liars. But occasionally we do see glimpses of his softer and vulnerable side. I just can't help but to be drawn to the enigmatic character — I guess I can also relate to his personality in more ways than I'd like to admit.
