Who's behind this?

My name is Essi and I'm the owner of this fanlisting. To make an incredibly long and boring story short, I'm a 34-year-old girl from Finland. I'm a Bachelor of Culture and Arts who currently works in the field of media.

What's so great about Robert Downey Jr.?

Robert Downey Jr. is such a remarkable, charismatic, seductive, compelling and quirky actor who chooses interesting roles. He's constantly in command of his presence, which captivates you the minute he walks into a scene. You just can't afford take your eyes off him for an instant. He plays both comedy and drama convincingly and has tremendous curiosity, openness and resilience. Something happens in front of the camera that separates those people who are just good actors and those who have the quality that makes them unique, and Robert definitely has that something special about him.

I've been a fan of Robert's work for over ten years. I absolutely love his performances in Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (one of my all-time favourite films), Chaplin, Iron Man, Tropic Thunder, Zodiac, Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Good Night and Good Luck, Wonder Boys, The Singing Detective, Gothika, Only You, Air America, Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree, Chances Are, Home for the Holidays, Restoration, U.S. Marshals, Two Girls and a Guy, Less Than Zero, Natural Born Killers and Ally McBeal. In addition, I love the Volvo mini-feature, The Route V50, it's definitely one of my favourite short films ever. It's just so cool and Robert is awesome as always. Heh. :) My favourite Robert characters are probably Harry Lockhart (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang), Terry Crabtree (Wonder Boys), Larry Paul (Ally McBeal) and Paul Avery (Zodiac).

I also love Robert's music! He has a beautiful, soulful, earthy, smoky and sultry voice that just melts your heart. The sincere songs on The Futurist have extraordinary truthfulness, melodicism and delicacy, which make it one of the most beguiling albums I've ever listened to. It definitely feels like music is second nature to Robert. My favourite songs on The Futurist are Man Like Me, Little Clownz, Kimberly Glide, Details and Hannah. What is more, I love In My Dreams, Snakes, Every Breath You Take, Chances Are, River and White Christmas (from The Singing Detective and Ally McBeal).

Judging by many interviews I've seen or read, Robert comes across as an intriguing, witty, down-to-earth, curious, wildly funny, creative and endearing guy. It'd be a great honour to meet him some day. :) It feels like he's the kind of person with whom you could just talk and talk for hours about anything and everything — never getting tired of hearing what he has to say. I wish him all the happiness in the world.
